Year: Third Season

Paige Welch joined the Norse Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff in the fall of 2021. Paige graduated High School in 2017 from Bark River-Harris, where she was a part of two district championship teams. She went on to play for the first ever Bay College Women’s basketball team and became the first scorer for Bay’s women’s basketball program. Paige started in all 54 games of the two seasons she played and was named to the NJCAA Region XIII All-Region Team. Welch is in the top five all-time in several statistical categories in Norse Women’s Basketball History.  They include being tied for first in games played (54), first in assists (104), second in three-point field goals made (57), second in steals (98), tied for third in points per game (7.3), fourth in points scored (396), and fourth in rebounds (171).

Paige became a dual-athlete her sophomore year when she joined Bay College’s first ever softball team. She remained on the Dean’s List throughout her time at Bay as a dual-student athlete.

After graduating from Bay College in 2019 with an Associate’s Degree of Liberal Arts, Paige transferred to Northern Michigan University where she has held an excellent academic standing as well. She will obtain a Bachelor of Science - Language Arts/Elementary Education Degree in May of 2022, and is eager to begin her teaching career at a local elementary school soon after.

Paige is student-teaching at Bark River-Harris elementary for her last semester of college, where she also became part of the coaching staff for Bark River’s Varsity Softball team. Aside from sports and teaching, Paige most enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
