ESCANABA, MI – The Bay College Women's Basketball Team (3-1) kicked off their home schedule with an impressive win over the Lake Superior State JV Lakers (0-2) on Sunday afternoon.  The Norse dominated throughout, and ended up with 113-20 victory.

Bay's offense was strong from start to finish.  They shot 60.5% from the floor, including eight of twenty from behind the three-point arc.  Thirteen different players scored, including four of them finishing with double-digits.  The Norse took control early, outscoring the Lakers 25-5 in the first quarter, and then put the game away in the second quarter, outscoring their guests 35-8 in the second half.

The Norse defense also played a big role in the lopsided victory.  Bay created 47 Laker turnovers, applying relentless pressure late into the matchup.  The Lakers shot just 25.0% from the floor, and only converted two of 12 from three.  LSSU was outrebounded 37-17, which helped create 81 field goal attempts for the Norse offense.

Haley Trudell (SO, Rock, MI) had a strong shooting night, hitting four of seven from three-point range, and going eight of 13 overall.  She ended her afternoon as the leading scorer with twenty points.  Kaitlyn Hardwick (SO, Gladstone, MI) tallied 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Brooke Dalgord (SO, Garden, MI) 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Taylor Hunter (SO, Gladstone, MI) finished with 11 points, four rebounds, and three steals.

Zoey Campbell (FR, Clio, MI) paced the Lakers with eight points.

The Norse return to action tomorrow evening.  They will host UW-Green Bay, Marinette at 6 pm.
