McKayla Mott, Nina Bower, Anna Boutilier, and Aliana Martinez

ESCANABA, MI – The Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) and NJCAA Region 12 released the 2025 Postseason Softball Awards and Norse Softball had four players recognized for their play this past season with McKayla Mott topping the list for Bay with MCCAA Northern Conference Second Team honors.

McKayla Mott

Mott (FR, Escanaba, MI) led the team in most offensive categories this past season, including batting average (.514), on base percentage (.561), slugging percentage (1.081), runs scored (14), hits (19), triples (2), and home runs (4).  She also had five doubles and nine runs batted in for the Norse.  Mott also appeared as a pitcher in five games for Bay, starting three of them, and struck out 14 hitters in nine and two-thirds innings.

Nina Bower

Three Norse players received MCCAA Northern Conference Honorable Mention.  Nina Bower (FR, Bark River, MI) is on that list.  Bower was a big contributor defensively for the Norse playing all over the infield and was a catcher and pitcher at times.  Bower hit .226 for the season and had a pair of doubles and drove in seven runs.  She pitched 31 and two-thirds innings for Bay and struck out 28 hitters.

Anna Boutilier

Anna Boutilier (FR, Escanaba, MI) also received Honorable Mention.  Despite playing in just 12 games she was a top contributor for the Norse, finishing with a  .444 batting average, .474 on base percentage, and .694 slugging percentage.  She was second on the team with 16 hits and led the team with six doubles.  She also had one home run and nine RBI.

Aliana Martinez

The Norse rounded out the Honorable Mention list with a nod to Aliana Martinez (FR, Gladstone, MI).  She was the primary catcher for the Norse this season and finished the season with a .244 batting average.  Martinez scored nine runs and drove in six.  She struck out just two times in 45 at bats this season.

"We are very happy to have 4 players receive the all-conference honors," said first-year Head Coach John Garris.  "They are all deserving of this recognition.  McKayla Mott being named second team and Nina Bower, Anna Boutilier and Aliana Martinez receiving honorable mention is a great honor for Bay College. We are all very proud of this recognition."
