ESCANABA, MI – Bay College Athletic Director Matt Johnson has announced Christine "Tinner" Gosse as the Head Softball Coach for the Norse.

"I am extremely excited to have Tinner on board to lead the Norse softball program," said Johnson.  "Tinner has found great success as a high school player, collegiate player, and as an assistant coach here at Bay.  More importantly, Tinner knows what it takes to win! She was already part of the Norse family, and the transition will not only be seamless, but she will catapult this program to the next level. The future of Norse softball is bright, the program is in great hands!"

Gosse is a graduate of Gladstone High School where she was part of the 2014 MHCAA Division 3 State Championship Team.  During her time there, the Braves were State Runner-Up in 2012.  Gosse was nominated for the 2014 Miss Softball Pitcher award and was awarded All-State Honors two times in her high school career.

Tinner went on to play for Concordia University-Wisconsin from 2015-2017 where she was named to the 2015 NACC All-Freshman Team and Second Team All-Conference.  Gosse pitched 41 innings in her freshmen campaign and had a 4-2 record with a 3.07 ERA.  As a hitter Gosse compiled a .299 batting average, .403 on base percentage, had seven home runs, 87 runs, 69 RBI, and drew 61 walks in 348 total at bats.

Gosse started her coaching career in 2020 at Impact Sports Academy in De Pere, WI.  She also worked with pitchers at NEW Lutheran High School in Green Bay, WI.  She continues to volunteer her time with Gladstone Little League.

Tinner became an assistant coach at Bay College in 2022, with her primary responsibilities including working with pitchers and outfielders.  She has served as the interim head coach for the program since June of 2023.

"I am very excited to have the opportunity to coach here in my hometown, and I look forward to leading a reputable softball program in the UP," said Gosse.  "I would like to thank Coach Johnson and Bay College Athletics for the opportunity. Go Norse!"
