WINNECONNE, WI – Bay College's Cross Country Teams faced wet and muddy conditions for a second week in a row.  Both teams would post a team score for the first time since they hosted back on September 22.

The Women would get another strong performance by Zoie Berg (SO, Gladstone, MI).  The Norse top runner would finish sixth overall, with 59 runners participating in the 6K event.  Berg's time of 26:27 would be just 41 seconds off the top pace set by Concordia's Mackenzie Dorth.  Lauren Cousineau (FR, Escanaba, MI) finished her day with a time of 31:29, while Lauren Peters (FR, Munising, MI) would follow closely behind with a time of 32:14.  Jody Peters (FR, Gladstone, MI) would be the next Norse harrier to cross the finish line, recording a time of 35:34.  Katy Combs (SO, Escanaba, MI) would round out the scoring for Bay, finishing at 40:28.

Six teams would post a score, with Concordia (WI) taking the top spot with just 31 points.  The big day from Berg was not enough to boost Bay past Waubonsee Community College who scored 117 points, as the Norse would amass 134 points and finish in sixth place.

James Young (FR, Gladstone, MI) would reclaim the top spot amongst the Bay runners this week on the Men's side.  He would finish the 8K course with a time of 32:59.  Connor Robinson (FR. Powers, MI), who set the pace a week ago in Appleton, WI, was close behind with at time of 33:29.  Steven Magnuson (SO, Cheboygan, MI) would cross the line with a time of 36:22.  The Bay team score would be completed by Devonte Grier (SO, Griffin, GA), who finished with a time of 40:35, and Trent Marenger (FR, Gladstone, MI), who would end his day with a time of 44:05.

Macalester Colllege would take the men's team top spot with an overall score of 32 points.  The Norse were not able to climb in the rankings this week, and would finish with 242 points in ninth place.

"The women and men ran really well today, despite cool and windy conditions," said Head Coach Jim Murtha.  "The recent rains cause the course to be incredibly muddy and definitely resulted in slower times."

The Norse are back in action on Friday, October 19, as they take part in the U.P. Championships.  That event will be hosted by Northern Michigan University.
