PORT HURON, MI – The Bay Norse Women's Basketball team (4-5) were outplayed from start to finish on Friday afternoon, losing by a score of 100-36.  The Mid Michigan College Lakers (5-0) would lead the whole, game and build an insurmountable lead in the early going.

The Norse would not get a field goal for the first seven and a half minutes of the game, allowing Mid Michigan to jump out to a 20-2 lead in the early going.  The Lakers would continue to dominate from there, not allowing the Norse a chance to close the gap, as they would head to the locker room at halftime with a 51-15 lead.

Poor shooting would plague Bay College all night.  The Norse would connect on just ten of 46 attempts from the floor in the game, and just three of twenty attempts from behind the three-point arc.  The Lakers would outrebound the Norse 38-24, but ball control proved to be one of the biggest factors in the matchup.  Mid Michigan's relentless pressure would force 40 Bay College turnovers, which would give the Lakers, who shot 50% from the floor in the game, 32 more shot attempts.  The end result would be a game that was never close, and the Norse losing by a 64-point defecit.

Jordan Kraemer (SO, Norway, MI) would lead the Norse with nine points.  Keisha Davis (FR, St. Ignace, MI) grabbed seven rebounds.

Eleven different Laker players would see the floor, and all of them would put tallies in the scoring column.  They would be led by Savannah Peplinski (FR, Traverse City, MI) with 17 points.  Breyton Meeks (SO, Port Austin, MI) would add 15 points, while Allyiah Demmers (FR, Holt, MI) would score 14 points off the bench.

The Norse will look to rebound on Saturday afternoon when they face the host of this weekend's tournament, St. Clair County Community College.  That game is scheduled for a 3 PM tip off.
