IRONWOOD, MI – The Bay College Norse (3-4) would stumble in their opening game of the Lindquist Invitational hosted by Gogebic Community College.  They would fall to the Hibbing Community College Cardinals (2-0) by a final score of 74-61.

The Norse would shoot well from the floor, hitting on 45.2% of their shots from the floor.  The Cardinals would match, connecting on 41.2% of their attempts, and would cling to a two point lead at half.

The second half would separate the two teams.  The Norse would turn the ball over 19 times in the matchup.  The Cardinals would outrebound Bay College 52-35, which would include 21 offensive rebounds by Hibbing Community College.  Those advantages would show up in the second half when they Cardinals would attempt 28 shots, while the Norse would get just 15 attempts from the floor.  The Norse would also connect on just one of 12 attempts from behind the three-point arc, and would fall by a 13-point differential.

Jordan Kraemer (SO, Norway, MI) would lead the Norse with 13 points.  Taylor Hunter (FR, Gladstone, MI) would add 12 points for Bay.

Bethany Baldwin (FR, Watersmeet, MI) would lead all scorers with 22 points, while grabbing eight rebounds.  Hannah Morris (SO, Grand Rapids, MI) would add 18 points, while Sharea' Cherenfant (SO, Deland, MI) would add 12 points and five rebounds.

The Norse conclude their stint at the Lindquist Invitational at 11 AM tomorrow when they square off against Vermillion Community College.
