SUPERIOR, WI – The Bay College Norse (13-11) would open the game on an 11-2 run and never look back as they would lead throughout, taking down the UW-Superior JV team by a final score of 71-63.

Though the Yellowjackets would close the lead down to just two points in the first quarter, the Norse would regain their momentum and slowly take control of the game.  A 13-4 run to close out the half would give Bay College a 13-point lead at the half.

The Norse would lead by as many as 18 in the third quarter, but UW-Superior would make a run late in the game.  A 10-3 run by the hosts would put them down by just five with under a minute to play.  With time winding down, the Norse were forced to seal the victory at the free throw line and converted three of four attempts down the stretch to take the eight-point victory.

With one game left on the schedule, the win assured the Norse of a winning season.

Jordan Kraemer (FR, Norway, MI) would lead all scorers with 30 points.  She would also grab seven rebounds.  Paige Welch (FR, Bark River, MI) would end just short of a double-double, netting 19 points and collecting nine rebounds while being credited with three steals.

UW-Superior was led by Morgan Nepstad (SO, Hendrum, MN) and Kaly Kostrova (FR, Rhinelander, WI) who scored 21 points apiece.

The Norse end their inaugural season at home on Saturday, February 24th.  They will welcome the Gogebic Community College Samsons into Escanaba for a 1 pm tip off.
