ESCANABA, MI – A slow first half would haunt the Bay College Norse (12-11) and allow the Silver Lake College Lakers to build a lead that the Norse could not overcome.  Bay would lose the game by a final score of 63-48.

The Norse would shoot just 17.2% from the floor in the first half and turn the ball over nine times.  The Lakers would jump out to a 19-4 lead after the first quarter and lead throughout the game.  The offensive woes would continue for Bay in the second quarter, and they would trail 34-13 at the half.

The Norse would make adjustments over the break and outscore their guests in the second half.  They would close the gap to as little as 13 in the fourth quarter, but the early lead proved to be too much, as Silver Lake would end up with a 63-48 victory.

Jordan Kraemer (FR, Norway, MI) would pace the Norse with 13 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.  Teidra Fuson (FR, Norway, MI) scored ten points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Caitlin Hewitt (SO, Ishpeming, MI) would contribute ten points and six rebounds off the bench.

The Lakers' Ashley Rumlow (JR, Oshkosh, WI) would lead all scorers with 18 points.  Hailee Kotche (JR, Manitowoc, WI) would tally a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Bay College will be on the road on Friday, February 16th when the travel to Superior, Wisconsin.  The game against UW-Superior JV will tip at 6 pm.
