ESCANABA, MI – Bay College's Sierra Jones (SO, Calgary, AB) was named the MCCAA Northern Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in six games during the week of April 15-21.

On Tuesday Jones helped lead the Norse to a pair of conference wins over Alpena Community College (12-4 and 11-4).  In the first game she was two for four with a double and an RBI.  In the nightcap she helped spark an offense outburst with a bases loaded double in the fourth that drove in all three runs.  She capped off a five for five day with a homerun in the seventh.  In total she drove in six runs and had two doubles in the matchup.

On Friday and Saturday the Norse hosted Mid Michigan College.  In a pair of losses on Friday Jones ended up two of five with a run scored.  She helped Bay bounce back in game one on Saturday.  She ended up collecting two hits, both of them doubles, scored twice and drove in a run in an 11-4 victory.  Jones ended the week with a solo home run in the finale, finishing one for two in that contest.

For the week Jones collected 12 hits in 20 at bats, which is good for a .600 batting average.  She scored six times and drove in eight.  Five of her hits were doubles and two were homeruns.

The Norse are back in action on Friday and Saturday this week when they host Delta College.  First pitch on Friday is 2 pm.
