ESCANABA, MI – Genesis Kemp (FR, Grand Rapids, MI) was named the MCCAA Northern Conference Player of the Week for his play during the week of February 6-12.   

On February 8 Genesis helped lead the Norse to a 79-56 win over North Central Michigan College on the road.  Kemp was just short of a double-double, but finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, five steals, one assist, and one block.  The Norse were back in action on February 11 when they hosted Grand Rapids Community College and Kemp had another strong performance.  In the 99-72 victory he had 24 points, seven rebounds, and one assist.

For the week Genesis averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, one assist, and 0.5 blocks.

Kemp is the third different player to win the award on behalf of the Bay College Men's Basketball Team.  This is the fourth time a student-athlete from Bay has been recognized from Men's Basketball.
