PORT HURON, MI – A mid first half scoring drought spelled the beginning of the end for the Bay College Norse Men's Basketball Team (5-4) on Friday evening.  The St. Clair County Community College Skippers (6-2) ran away with a 99-62 win on their home court.

The two teams traded blows in the early going, and it had the making of a drawn out battle.  Bay got a three-pointer from Matt Wagner (FR, Marinette, WI) to tie the game with just over 11 minutes left in the first half, but the Skippers took over from there.  A 16-2 St. Clair run changed the narrative of the game, as the home team took control from there on out.  The Skippers took a 44-31 lead into the locker room at half.

Bay struggled to change the momentum as twelve was as close as they would get in the second half.  The Skippers hit on eight of 19 from behind the three-point arc in the second half, allowing them to build an insurmountable lead.  They scored 55 points in the second half and cruised to a 37-point victory.

The Norse turned the ball over 22 times, while the Skippers only committed 13 turnovers.  St. Clair County dominated the boards, pulling down 51 rebounds while Bay only secured 35.  The Skippers shot the ball well from outside, knocking down 17 three-pointers.

The Skippers were led by Jalen Miller (SO, Flint, MI) who ended with 14 points.  Riley Bugg (FR, North Branch, MI) and DJuan Taylor (SO, Oak Park, MI) finished with 13 points and six rebounds apiece.  Emmanuel Ndambi (FR, Canada) scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Wagner finished with ten points, while Ryan Robinette (SO, Escanaba, MI) ended with nine points. Tristan Masuga (FR, Cedarville, MI) hit a couple of three's and tallied eight points and seven rebounds, while Christian Alexander (SO, Dorset, UK) wound up with seven points and eight rebounds.

The Norse will look to bounce back against Mid Michigan tomorrow.  The game, hosted by St. Clair County, will tip off at 1 pm.
