ESCANABA, MI - The Men's and Women's Norse Basketball Teams now know when they will play their opening round games of the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament.  Both teams will play at home on Wednesday, February 27^.

The Women's Team (20-6) has known their scenario since their last home game on February 13.  They will host Gogebic Community College on February 27 at 6 pm.  The two teams have met twice this season, with Bay taking both games.  In Ironwood on January 16, the Norse won by a final of 68-49, and in Escanaba on February 13 the host team cruised to an 89-54 victory.

The Men's Team's (19-9) scenario was less clear.  Locked in a tie with Dakota County Technical College, the two teams were forced into a coin flip scenario to see who would receive a bye and host the semi-final game.  Early Monday afternoon, the Norse came out on top of that coin flip and will now host that game.  Bay College will host either Gogebic Community College or Dakota County Technical College.  Those two teams are scheduled to play on Saturday, February 23, and the winner will advance to play the Norse at 8 pm on the following Wednesday.  The Norse swept Gogebic in the season series this year, winning by finals of 79-64 and 96-64.  Dakota County Technical College split the season series with Bay College.  The Norse won on the road by a final score of 83-79, and dropped a decision at home by a final of 84-75.

Tickets are on sale now.  Season ticket holders can reserve their tickets before Friday, February 22 at noon.  At that time all tickets will be for sale to the public.  Tickets can be bought at the Bay College ticket window or by calling 906-217-4062.
