IRONWOOD, MI - The Norse Men's Basketball Team (14-6) have now won three straight games and eight of their last ten after downing the Gogebic Community College Samsons (3-17) by a final score of 79-64 on the road Wednesday night.

Ryan Robinette (FR, Escanaba, MI) would help the Norse build an 11-point lead in the first half by knocking down a pair of three-point shots.  Alfonzo Fields (SO, Milwaukee, WI) would add one of his own, and both players would end up with a steal and layup.  Robinette would score all 12 of his points in the first half, as Bay would hold a 34-23 halftime lead.

The Norse would get a big second half from their post players.  Tyler Willette (SO, Escanaba, MI) would score 12 in the latter half, while Kobi Banres (SO, Milwaukee, WI) would add 13 in the same timeframe.  The Samsons were able to cut the lead to just ten with seven minutes to play, but that would be as close as they would get.  Bay College would outscore their hosts 26-15, allowing them to walk away with a 24-point victory.

"The guys played incredibly hard this evening, especially on the defensive end," said Head Coach Matt Johnson.  "I thought our effort in the first half was probably as good of a defensive effort as we've had all season."

Fields would lead all scorers with 19 points.  Willette added 18, while Barnes would end with 14 points.

Mitchell Borseth (Fr, Ontonagon, MI) would lead the Samsons with 11 poitns, while Braydon Tomes (FR, Bessemer, MI) added nine points.

Full statistics were not available after the game.

For the Norse it is their second regional victory in as many games.  They will look to keep that streak alive as they play host to #20 Dakota County Technical College on Saturday afternoon.  Bay travelled to Minnesota last week and defeated the then ranked #16 Blue Knights 83-79 on their home floor.  Bay will look to continue its bid for home court advantage throughout the regional and district tournaments in the rematch on Saturday.  That game is scheduled for 3 PM.
