Bay College Pulls Away from Western Tech

IRONWOOD, MI – The Bay Norse (9-5) would pull away in the second half and cruise to a twenty-point victory on Friday evening, topping the Western Tech Cavaliers (4-6) by a final score of 71-51.

The Bay College defense would put pressure on the Cavaliers all game long, giving the Norse an advantage.  Western Tech would turn the ball over 27 times in the contest, and Bay College would be credited with 24 points off of turnovers.  Despite that, the Cavaliers would shoot the ball well in close range in the first half, hitting on 61.1% of their shots inside the arc, and they would find themselves trailing by just nine at halftime.

Western Tech's shooting would falter in the second half and they would go just four of 17 from close range.  For the game they would hit on just 20.8% of their shots from behind the three-point arc.  The Norse would take advantage, staying consistent on the offensive end and finishing with an overall shooting percentage of 40.3%.  The Cavalier turnovers would take their toll, allowing for 18 more attempts from the field for Bay.

Ryan Robinette (FR, Escanaba, MI) would lead the Norse with 12 points, while grabbing six rebounds.  Alfonzo Fields (SO, Milwaukee, WI) scored ten points and collected eight rebounds, while Kobi Barnes (SO, Milwaukee, WI) would also end up with ten points.

Western Tech's Mahlik Lindsey (FR, Wauwatosa, WI) would lead all scorers with 16 points, while pulling in nine rebounds.  Justen Kidd (SO, West Allis, WI) would add nine points and four rebounds.
