MILWAUKEE, WI – The Bay College Norse (8-5) would see the Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers (9-2) pull away in the second half and take a 98-70 decision. 

The game would be tightly contested early on, but the Stormers would start to build a lead before half.  A buzzer beating three would give MATC a seven-point lead at the half.  The Norse would not be able to close the gap in the second half, and see their deficit grow. 

Ball control would be the downfall for Bay College in the afternoon.  The Norse would turn the ball over 36 times in the contest.  The Stormers would take advantage and would end up with 82 attempts from the field, shooting 41.5%.  The Norse would end the game with 62 field goal attempts, and shoot just 34.3%.  Bay College would also miss out on opportunities at the free throw line, going just 16 of 32 on their attempts from the charity stripe.  Bay would outrebound their hosts 58-45, but in the end it wasn't enough, as they would fall by 18 points.

"We did some good things," said Head Coach Matt Johnson, "the kids competed and played hard, but we did not take good enough care of the ball to win on the road against a good team."

Kobi Barnes (SO, Milwaukee, WI) would record a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds while blocking three shots.  Alfonzo Fields (SO, Milwaukee, WI) would end his afternoon with 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

The Stormers would get 28 points from Shannon Stanford Jr. (SO, Milwaukee, WI).  Yuri Swinford (FR, Bloomington, IL) would add 15 points and nine rebounds, while D'Angelo Young-Pryor (SO, Streator, IL) wound up with 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Norse will participate in the Gogebic Winter Classic next weekend before taking a break for the Holidays.  On Friday they will meet Western Tech for the second time this season at 5 PM.  On November 17 the Norse hosted Western Tech and won that matchup 71-63.  On Saturday Bay College will meet up with Leach Lake Tribal College at 1 PM.
