Norse Win Fifth Straight

IRONWOOD, MI – The Bay Norse (5-2) would continue their hot streak, beating the Hibbing Community College Cardinals (0-1) by a final score of 96-81.

The Norse would limit the Cardinals' possessions by dominating the boards, outrebounding their opponents 55-29.  Bay College would collect 22 offensive rebounds in the matchup.  The result would be the Norse getting 77 shot attempts, while the Cardinals would get just 63 attempts from the field.  Bay College would hold a ten point lead at the half.

Both teams would shoot well on the afternoon.  Bay would hit 53.1% of their shots from the floor, while Hibbing would connect on 52% of their attempts.  The Cardinals would shoot 39.5% from behind the three-point arc, while the Norse would hit on 35.7% from the same distance.  Bay College would get an advantage from the free throw line, hitting 14 of 23 attempts from the charity stripe.  Hibbing would get just 14 attempts in the game, connecting on ten of them. 

The Norse would get a strong effort from Logan Hardwick (FR, Rapid River, MI) would score 19 points, grab eight rebounds, and have three assists.  Ryan Robinette (FR, Escanaba, MI) would also score 19 points while grabbing five rebounds.  Marcus McKenney (SO, Menominee, MI) added 18 points and six rebounds, while the Norse would get 13 points and eight rebounds from Christian Alexander (FR, Dorset, UK).

Amuan Ryan (FR, Center, MN) and David Faitha (FR, Mountain Crest, MN) would each score 19 points for the Cardinals.

The Norse will face off with Vermillion Community College tomorrow afternoon.  That game will tip at 1 PM on the campus of Gogebic Community College.
