ESCANABA, MI – The Bay College Norse (16-8) would rebound from a tough loss the night before and win an overtime thriller.  The Norse would take down the UW-Fox Valley Cyclones ((9-12) by a score of 92-86.

It was the second day of back-and-forth games for the Norse, as this one featured ten ties and 15 lead changes.  The Norse would have to rally early on, as the Cyclones would take a ten point lead with 14:17 remaining in the first half.  A 13-4 run by the Norse would put erase UW-Fox Valley's biggest lead of the game, and Bay would eventually end up with a three-point lead going into intermission.

The Norse would have their hands full in the second half, as the Cyclones would hit 51.9% of their shots from the field.  With their opponents staying hot, Bay would have to limit their opportunities, and were able to do so by outrebounding UW-Fox Valley 22-11 in the second half.  The Cyclones would only be able to grab three offensive rebounds during that time period.  The Norse would grab the lead with 30 seconds to play, but the Cyclones' Jose Alba-Zielinski would get free for a layup to tie the game.  Eight seconds remained, and the look from Dre Tuominen (FR, Neguanee, MI) fell short, sending the game into overtime.

The opening minutes of overtime were a back-and-forth, with both teams taking the lead multiple times.  With 3:18 Alba-Zielinski would give the Cyclones an 84-83 lead, but Tuominen and the Norse would answer back on the next possession.  UW-Fox Valley would not score again until 18 seconds remained on the clock, which would give Bay all the time they needed to take the lead.  The Norse would end up with a six-point victory at home.

Kobi Barnes (FR, Milwaukee, WI) turned in a big performance, ending with 34 points and 11 rebounds.  Tuominen would finish with 16 points and five rebounds, while Alonzo Fields (FR, Milwaukee, WI) would score ten points, grab eight rebounds, while dealing out three assists, and collecting two steals.

The Norse will be on the road on Monday as they take on Lake Superior State JV at 7:30 pm.
