ESCANABA, MI – The Norse Baseball and Softball teams announced home scrimmages to be played September 26 and 27 at their home fields adjacent to the Wells Sports Complex.

Softball will participate in their annual Norse Fall Classic.  Alpena Community College and Gogebic Community College will be in town to participate in the two-day event.  Games will kick off on Saturday with Gogebic and Alpena playing at 10 am.  Bay will then face Alpena at noon, and Gogebic at 2 pm.  The three teams will repeat the same schedule on Sunday.

Softball will continue their fall with a scrimmage on the road.  On October 3 they will visit Gogebic for a doubleheader.  Those games are scheduled for a 1 pm start.

The Norse Baseball program faced challenges with scheduling outside teams this fall, and as a result their originally planned scrimmage schedule was completely cancelled for this fall.  Stepping up to offer assistance is a group of players from the Superiorland League, the wood bat adult league that plays during the summer.  The group, organized by Jon Bintner, will face the Norse in a 9-inning scrimmage on September 26.  First pitch is scheduled for 11 am.

The Norse will then continue their fall with a Blue-Green World Series Intersquad Games.  The best of seven series will split the Norse into two teams.  The dates and times of those games are yet to be determined.
