Norse Run at Gene Davis Invitaional

APPLETON, WI---The Bay College Norse cross country teams competed at the 7th annual Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Lawrence University at the Reid Municipal Golf Course in Appleton.

The Norse women finished seventh in the event.  The women were led by freshman Caitlyn Havelka, who finished 43rd out of 73 runners with a time of 27 minutes, 9 seconds. Teammate Zoie Berg was close behind in 47th place, with a time of 27:19. The other Norse runners were Rhyan Murtha (69th, in 31:09), Katy Combs (72nd, in 36:52), and Brittany Judson (73rd, in 44:20).

As a team, the Norse were seventh overall with 211 points. The University of Wisconsin-River Falls won the race with 32 points, and St. Norbert College finished second (49).

In the men's race, the Norse had four runners compete, with Nick LaRose leading the way by finishing 87th overall (34:14.53). Steven Magnuson finished 91st (36:51.48), Dominic Mancini 94th (40:46.29), and Giovanni Mancini 95th (50:41.40).

The Bay College Cross Country teams close out their first-ever season of competition next Saturday (Oct. 14) at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational.
